Synchronization

Premium feature →

Synchronize messages, bans and roles across Discord servers

Sync keeps two places in step with each other continuously, instead of at the moment you took a snapshot. Mirror a channel into another server, share a ban list across a network, or keep role assignments matched between a main server and its backup. Premium only.

Three things you can sync

Each sync is a one way link from a source to a target. Set it once and Xenon keeps applying changes as they happen, with no scheduled job to wait for.

  1. 01Messages. Everything posted in the source channel is mirrored into the target channel, with the author name and avatar preserved.
  2. 02Bans. Ban someone on the source server and they are banned on every target server too.
  3. 03Role assignments. Give a member a role on the source server and the matching role is applied on the target.

What people use sync for

One announcement, many servers

Post once in your main server and have it appear in every partner or regional server automatically.

A shared ban list

Communities that run several servers ban a bad actor once and have it applied across the whole network.

A warm standby server

Keep a second server matched to the first, so if the main one is lost you are not starting from a snapshot.

Staff role parity

Promote a moderator in one place and their role appears everywhere they need it, with no manual bookkeeping.

Public mirror of a private channel

Mirror a staff channel into a read only public one so members can follow along without joining the conversation.

Cross community feeds

Two allied servers can each mirror a channel into the other and share traffic without merging.

Sync needs Premium

Sync runs continuously rather than on demand, so it sits behind Premium on every tier. There is no reduced free version.

Sync questions

Our Discord server is the fastest way to get an answer from a human.

Join our Discord
Is sync one way or two way?

One way, from a source to a target. Set up a second sync in the opposite direction if you want both sides to mirror each other.

Do both servers need Premium?

No. Premium is linked to your Discord account, and you need to be an administrator on both servers to connect them.

Are old messages copied when I start a sync?

No. Sync applies from the moment you start it. Use a backup if you need the history that came before.

Can I sync between servers I do not own?

You need administrator permission on both sides. That is deliberate, since a sync moves content between communities.

What happens if a synced message is edited or deleted?

Edits and deletions in the source are applied to the mirrored copy as well.
